WARSAW — Columbia City’s boys golf team is headed for the regional match after placing well in a competitive Warsaw Sectional last week.
The boys took second, falling only to host Warsaw, to advance.
Warsaw scored 296 to earn the title and Columbia City was five strokes behind at 301.
Triton will also advance, scoring a 318.
The Eagles were led by Kam Hoag with a 73. That score was good for third overall.
Andrew Hedrick shot a 75 to place fifth overall, and Sean Bledsoe garnered a 76 for seventh place.
Alex Hedrick carded a 77 for ninth place and Drew Dunham finished with 81 strokes in 15th place.
Other teams competing in the sectional included Culver Military Academy in fourth, Wawasee in fifth, followed by Plymouth, Northfield, Huntington North, Whitko, Manchester, Tippecanoe Valley and Culver.
The boys compete in the Plymouth Regional June 10 at 8 a.m. at Swan Lake Golf Club. Feeder sectionals include East Noble, Canterbury, Northridge, Peru and South Bend Riley.
At the East Noble sectional, Churubusco’s Tyler Miller led the team with a 90. The team placed ninth with a score of 388.
The state finals will be held June 15-16 at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel.
